BHAVTI: Empowering Women Through Menstrual Hygiene
Futureseed Earth Foundation has recently started its new initiative called BHAVTI in the field of women health by providing free sanitary napkins to them in deprived societies such as slums and rural areas.
Our Mission
Women are known to be the backbone of the family and the bedrock of a nation. While women make most of the healthcare decisions for their family, they have largely failed to take care of their own health. The mission of BHAVTI is to nudge our attention towards women health and empowerment.
Futureseed Earth Foundation has started up a new outreach campaign to address the very same problem. Through this campaign, our volunteer's team will go to their local communities and will spread awareness towards women health and empowerment.
The Problem We're Addressing
As of today most of the women in rural areas (62% according to National Family Health Survey) use cloth during their periods instead of sanitary napkins, and this poor menstrual hygiene, renders them suffering from a plethora of menstrual disorders. Women need to know that how these unhygienic practices affect their health and what are the ways to overcome that.
Our Outreach in Bihar
To serve the purpose, Sania one of our volunteer along with her bua outreached to her local community in Purnia, Bihar and distributed feminine hygiene kits to 50 underprivileged women and also sensitized them about the importance of use of sanitary napkins during menstrual cycle.
"With this campaign, we are also encouraging women to share their moments of self-care on our social media handle with hashtag #Bhavti in order to augment their engagement."
